Prof. Luiz Pedro Ribeiro

Jiu-Jitsu Instructor

Luiz Pedro started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when he was 13 years old in Passa Quatro, Minas Gerais ,Brazil under Professor George Augusto. Initially, Pedro wanted to play soccer,  he was challenged to lose 50 pounds in 6 months to be able to get on the team. One of his friends  told him to start training BJJ which would help him to lose the weight faster, while Luiz was on his journey to get on the team he sadly, lost his father and the opportunity to play soccer. However, Jiu-Jitsu was the key to help him move on in life after his fathers passing. He began to take BJJ more seriously. Luiz started going to competitions, and later on, moved to Florianopolis where he earned his Black belt at the Ataque Duplo Centro.

Luiz Pedro is 2x IBJJF  World Champion, IBJJF Pan Champion, IBJJF Sulamericano Champion, Sulbrasileiro Champion, among other accolades.  Additionally, Luiz works as referee in IBJJF tournaments and others all over the USA. Presently he is 3rd degree black belt.
